What Can Hormone Dysfunction Look Like?
Let me tell you a story about this photo…
Let me tell you a story about these photos:
I was obsessed with being lean and wanted it SO badly.
Even though my goals at the time were primarily performance-based, I didn’t fully understand that prioritizing performance also meant putting aesthetics on the back burner.
I didn’t care… I just wanted BOTH.
I looked great, but what I was dealing with on the inside was a whole different story.
– I couldn’t sleep. I was WIRED for bedtime and was waking up 4-5 times a night
– I had zero sex drive
– My appetite was low, and I had a hard time fueling my body
– Recovery sucked, and I was sore and achy all the time
– I was constantly getting injured
– Performance was mediocre
– My gut health was a MESS. I felt extremely bloated after each meal, and the list of foods I couldn’t tolerate kept getting longer.
– My mood was extremely unstable
– Menstrual cycles became inconsistent and very light
– Energy was low
– My hair was dry and brittle
Sounds like a blast, right? 😉
I bring this up because hormone dysfunction doesn’t have just one look or one symptom; it’s different for all women. Being healthy doesn’t mean visible abs or a low BF%. I felt worse then than I have my entire life.
Optimizing your hormones is essential regardless of the phase of life you’re in. When you FEEL good, you can focus on ways to LOOK good… but if you feel like shit and you’re driving yourself into the ground to look good and change your body, you’re just stepping over dollars to get to dimes.
If your body is screaming, LISTEN TO IT!!
Let’s fix what’s going on inside so you can love the way you look AND feel!
